Rules and Conditions of entry
1. Judges decision in every case is FINAL.
2. Approved EN 1384 or PAS 015 hard/crash hats must be worn at all times when mounted. Approved body protectors are recommended. Other than in the rings or in the warm up areas, NO CANTERING is allowed. Anyone seen riding in a manner likely to endanger any persons or animals will be ordered from the showground
3. No horse/pony to be ridden more than once in each class. No horse/pony under 4 years to be jumped in any class. MDRA reserve the right to ask for proof of age for any horse including veterans entrants
4. BSJA rules apply.
5. Disclaimer of liability: Neither the organisers, owners of the land, nor any person acting on their behalf, accept any responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, competitors, spectators or any person or property whatsoever while on the showground or while entering or leaving the showground. Each competitor shall be responsible for any loss, injury or damage that may be done to or occasioned by, or arising from any animal, article or property, exhibited or brought into the showground by him and shall indemnify and hold harmless the Matfield and District Riders’ Association, persons acting on their behalf and the owners of the land from and against all actions, suits, expenses and claims on account of or in respect of any such damage or injury which may be caused or occasioned.
6. Health and Safety: The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards. Any person seen riding in an irresponsible manner, or in a way which is detrimental to the interests of the landowner, will be asked to leave the showground.
7. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and any mess must be cleaned up.
8. Classes may be limited at the organisers' direction and they reserve the right to refuse entry.
9. THE ORGANISERS WILL NOT PERMIT ANY EXCESSIVE USE OF SPURS OR WHIPS OR BAD LANGUAGE AND ANYBODY REPORTED DOING SO IS LIABLE TO DISQUALIFICATION AND WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE SHOWGROUND.
10. Refunds can only be made on production of a Veterinary or Doctor's Certificate
11. Litter bins provided must be used or please take your litter home. Do not muck out boxes onto the showground. The field is used for grazing livestock.
12. In case of bad weather, please ring the following number 01892 824006 on Saturday 18th July for recorded message.
13. The organisers reserve the right to split or combine any classes or change rings
14. In the event of cancellation, entry fees will be refunded, other than a deduction of £2 per competitor to cover costs, on receipt by the entries secretary of a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
15. The Dressage competition is run under current British Dressage Rules. Correct riding dress to be worn. Approved snaffles only allowed.
PRIZE DETAILS Trophies to all class winners. Sponsors rosettes to sixth place. Winners of MDRA Horse and Pony of the Year will receive sashes.
Rosettes awarded to highest placed MDRA member in each class.
